"With PFAFF Industrial, we are once more concentrating on our strengths," said Joachim Richter during the plant tour. "We have good, motivated staff, excellent products and still a strong brand name in the market. Our core competence is the development and marketing of innovative sewing and welding machines, in connection with German manufacturing quality. PFAFF products offer tangible added value to customers once more." In general, the customer has again moved more into focus at PFAFF. At the new PFAFF Industrial, the Customized Solutions department has been strongly expanded. When it comes to the implementation of individual customer solutions, PFAFF wants to be the industry leader. For instance, a new, contemporary customer center with showroom was also established at the Kaiserslautern location, where there is a permanent exhibition of nearly 100 industrial sewing products and welding consumables for the worldwide customers and visitors - solutions that are not only of interest to the clothing industry but also to the fields of automotive, home upholstery, home textiles, small leather goods, shoes, filter engineering, medical engineering and industrial textiles.
In his speech during the buffet to follow, Joachim Richter drew a positive conclusion throughout: "On the side of the clients, we have managed within a few months to regain lost trust. What's more, our concept of placing increased emphasis in the future on hightech sewing and welding solutions that are "Made in Germany" meets with a very positive reception from our customers and sales partners," Joachim Richter elaborated. "On the production side, a new product offensive was initiated by me whereby, for example, a new large surface lockstitch bartacker or a new highspeed postbed sewing machine was used to develop and market excellent new products for the shoe industry." The PFAFF order books are filled to the brim! Order placement during the first 4 months of 2010 has been excellent and exceeded company management expectations. For 2011, the company expects sales of some EUR 30 million. As has been the case in the past year, the firm should again post a positive operating result this year.
Festivities at PFAFF went on until well after midnight for some guests. Late at night, old and new stories "from days bygone" were exchanged.
There are plenty of positives to report again in the early summer of 2010 about PFAFF, a oneyearold enterprise with a 148year company history.
