German scales specialist expands activities in France from
development of a sales and service network
With a new strategy and added staff, the company began one year ago to lay the groundwork for increased activities in France.
"The French market offers Pfreundt great potential for growth in the immediate European neighbourhood. After spending 10 years in service management, I moved to sales in late 2013, where my work for the past year has concentrated on France," said Mustapha Koumih, Area Sales Manager at Pfreundt.
Following an extensive market analysis, the focus now is on developing a sales and service network in France. For many years, the company's representative in France has been "PMA - Pesage Mesures et Automatismes" based in La Wantzenau near Strasbourg, with offices in Metz and Bart. They are now being joined by "NCR-Diffusion" from Plouedern in Brittany, which will handle representation in north-west France. Potential representatives are currently being sought for other regions.
Innovations at INTERMAT 2015
At INTERMAT, the company plans to shows its 35 years of expertise and its service strength. In addition to the excavator scale BGW-1 for materials handling and the conveyor-belt scale BW-2, the exhibition will feature the new "wheel-loader scale WK 60" with the Internet platform "PFREUNDT Web Portal" for data-sharing and the fully automated "Q-Control" for treatment plants.
Expanded expertise with fully automated control for treatment plants
"Q-Control" is the product of "Ma-estro", a partner company in which Pfreundt GmbH acquired a stake at the start of the year. The objectives of process automation are improvement and standardisation of product quality, optimal utilisation of equipment, avoidance of down times due to malfunctioning and lowering of energy use through self-regulating control of equipment.
"By investing in Ma-estro, we are expanding our expertise as a systems provider," said Bruno Reckmann, Head of Sales at Pfreundt. "Our belt scales have long been utilised in Ma-estro equipment automation, meaning that closer collaboration was pretty much an obvious next step. In addition, at the start of this year, we assigned Pfreundt representation for Italy to Ma-estro."
