Anhand der Geschichte des kleinen Jungen "Shao", der von seinem Vater in das Shaolin Kloster gebracht wird, bekommt der Zuschauer einen Eindruck über das noch heute entbehrungsreiche Leben der Mönche. Gebannt verfolgt das Publikum die spektakuläre Willenskraft und scheinbare Schmerzlosigkeit der Akteure.
