The robust precision actuators of the M-238 line are ideally suited for industrial applications that require positioning of heavy loads with high accuracy and reliability. The DC-Mike drives from PI (Physik Instrumente) with the powerful ActiveDriveTM DC-Motor/gearbox move even loads as high as 400 N over a 50 mm travel range at a speed of 30 mm/s. Highest positioning accuracy and repeatability is attained with optical linear encoders, which provide a minimal incremental motion of only 0.3 µm. Reliable high-duty-cycle operation in industrial environments is assured by the maintenance-free, low-friction ballscrew. Non-contact reference and limit switches support simple and easy automation and provide for high operational safety.
The M-238 drive uses a powerful DC-Motor with gearbox and ActiveDriveTM technology. In it, a PWM amplifier is installed in the same housing, offering high efficiency in a compact format.
M-238s are easily commanded by the palm-top C-862 MercuryTM servo-controllers or the C-843 servo-controller in PCI board format, even in multi-axis applications.
