Ultra-high-precision nanopositioning systems of the PicoCube® series are ideally suited for nanotechnology applications. Highest accuracy P-363 piezo positioning stages together with the low-noise E-536 controller offer a unique combination for sub-atomic precision and high dynamic performance. Nano-imprint lithography, scanning microscopy and biotechnology profit from the extremely high resolution of 0.05 nm over travel ranges of 5 µm per axis. The reference-class PicoCube® controller from PI (Physik Instrumente) supports two- and three-axis P-363 piezo stages with 50 W peak power per channel for fast scanning and positioning.
Applications requiring closed-loop control benefit from the P-363's high accuracy capacitive position sensors and the E-536's fast servo-loop. In addition to analog control, the PicoCube® controller can be commanded digitally over an RS-232 or IEEE 488 interface using the optional E-516 computer interface and display module. With that module's high-end 20-bit D/A converter, full picometer-range resolution of the stages is also accessible.
