The time has come once again for the worldwide most important industry fair to start in Hanover, running from 25 to 29 April! Companies present their products and services there around the Industry 4.0 theme for 5 days long. The subject of robotics in particular will be given high importance. So, together with the Industrieanzeiger trade journal and the Robotation Academy, HANNOVER MESSE make the ROBOTICS AWARD for now the sixth time. pi4_robotics will also be present as an exhibitor at the fair with innovative solutions and, remaining on the fast track with further development of its robots: The third generation of the workerbot™ from the company belonging to the Berlin entrepreneur Matthias Krinke has been selected by the jury, along with two further applicants out of numerous other companies. “With its flexibility in both tasks and location, our workerbot3 ™ humanoid robot is the answer to new requirements for more and more demanding production and therefore already represents today real practical implementation of Industry 4.0 principles”, explains the company's Managing Director Matthias Krinke. “The workerbot3 therefore enables cost-effective production in Europe through its universal use and thereby not only ensure that Europe remains a production, but it can also even bring back production from distant countries”.

We compare here innovations of the third generation with the second generation:
– Stereo camera system in the hands (grippers): hereby 3D product location identification
– Highly flexible grippers for secure gripping of the most widely different articles
– New tasks are now learned, no longer programmed
– Ancillary components for feeding and transporting away of materials being handled
The new generation can be used more flexibly due to its “seeing hands” and can recognize and perform required article location correction by itself. Through use of the stereo camera system in the hands, the location and orientation of objects to be gripped can be precisely determined.
