In a second phase of development, PMA/TOOLS AG has been able to take advantage of the roof space on their adjacent building which has allowed the installation of an extra 248 solar panels, avoiding an additional of 35,6 t of CO2 emissions.
The self-generated green power covers a substantial portion of the company’s electricity needs. PMA/TOOLS AG is largely independent of public electricity providers and fossil fuels: Any demand exceeding production via in-house solar equipment is obtained using 100 % power from hydroelectric sources, which underscores their commitment to an overall green solution.
Together with low energy features within both the new warehouse and office buildings, the automotive glass accessories specialist prioritises and continues to consistently focus on ecological management.
Up until now, the solar energy supports 12 e-charging points. In the future, 6 additional charging points for electric vehicles will be supplied by the extension to the photovoltaic system. This is a benefit for the company’s e-fleet – by 2023, 95 % of the company vehicles will be converted to e-mobility, saving 40,000 l of petrol and diesel per year.
PMA/TOOLS AG has already had a bike garage since 2019, accommodating up to 12 bicycles and an e-scooter, ensuring not only secure covered parking, but also affording the company’s employees the possibility to charge their bikes at the same time.
Employees and visitors of PMA/TOOLS AG at the Willich HQ site are now offered various possibilities to charge their e-vehicles and benefit from the powerful in-house solar system.
