This first PLC processor will combine all parts of a conventional PLC structure in one chip. Not only the PLC-specific functions like PLC-Core (PLC 7000), the I/O module, the peripheral bus and the serial communication interfaces will be integrated.
In addition the PLC 7100 offers an Arm9 Core Processor with SDRAM-Ethernet-Interface as well as PLC user memory and fieldbus interfaces like CAN, PROFIBUS, serial and also 2 Ethernet MAXs for Profinet, EtherCAT or standard TCP/IP.
This Single-Chip - compared to the S7-400 from Siemens - will already reach high performance areas. The supply voltage will be 1,3V and the power loss will amount to 0,9W.
This chip is suitable for all small-size and medium applications up to a PLC memory capacity of 128kByte.
This component will be available in the third quarter of 2008. A corresponding EVA-Board will be available, too.
