Due to its scope the extensive project was divided into two independent subprojects. The Webasto Group is a global innovative systems partner to the mobility industry and one of the 100 largest suppliers to the automotive sector worldwide. The company's offering includes in-house developed roof, heating and cooling systems for various types of vehicles, batteries and charging solutions for hybrid and electric vehicles, and additional services related to thermal management and electromobility. In 2021, the Group generated sales of 3.7 billion euros and employed around 15,700 people at over 50 locations.
To meet its own requirements in the area of personnel management in the long term, Webasto has opted for an efficient and future-proof suite with the introduction of SAP SuccessFactors solutions as its talent management system. As a competent expert for demanding implementation projects within the SAP® SuccessFactors environment, projekt0708 was able to successfully advise and support Webasto in the necessary measures.

For a long time, Webasto has relied on SAP ERP Human Capital Management (SAP ERP HCM) as on-premise solution for large parts of its cross-location human resources management. The company uses it to manage employee master data, performance management, time management and payroll accounting. Until the rollout of SAP SuccessFactors, event management at German locations was also included. In 2018, during the implementation of a new specialized concept in talent management, the decision was made to standardize this process globally and to cover additional areas, such as recruiting and learning, with a single system as well. In the course of a tender process, Webasto chose SAP SuccessFactors solutions and projekt0708 as its partner for the implementation.
In the areas of recruiting and learning, projekt0708 was able to adapt SAP SuccessFactors solutions to individual requirements of Webasto within ten months until the first roll-out, based on a proven standard implementation method.
In talent management, projekt0708 introduced the SAP SuccessFactors modules Performance & Goals and Succession & Development in a global go live in close coordination with future key users. In the preliminary final result, Webasto now works with a hybrid system landscape consisting of cloud-based SAP SuccessFactors solutions and the existing SAP ERP HCM on-premise solution. Thanks to the project-related and strategic support provided by projekt0708, Webasto was able to achieve measurable optimization in terms of transparency and efficiency of the processes involved within a short period of time, while at the same time achieving a significant improvement in terms of global compliance with its own standards.
