1&1 AG, one of Germany's largest providers of broadband and mobile services, relies on referral management as an important pillar for its talent acquisition. Its 3,200+ employees can share advertised positions with their networks to attract candidates. If a position is filled based on an employee recommendation, the employee is rewarded through a bonus system. The process increases the quality of applications while the bonuses can contribute to employee retention.

1&1 relies on Quick Apply for the online application process. For the technical implementation of the employee recommendation program, 1&1 uses on Talentry, a Talent Relationship Platform provider. With its “Engagement Engine,” the Munich-based company allows job postings to be forwarded and assigns applications to the recommender.
Technical coordination of the two systems was essential to combine both aspects of the overarching strategy. The adjustments ensured seamless communication between the two.
