Die aktuelle Sicherheitslösung „Platinum Internet Security 2006“ von Panda Software erfüllte in den umfangreichen Labor- und Praxistests des renommierten ProtectStar Testcenters die Kriterien einer modernen Sicherheitslösung und wurde mit dem „ProtectStar AWARD 2006“ ausgezeichnet.
Sowohl der Virenscanner, die Firewall, das Anti-Spyware Modul, der Schutz vor Phishing- und Pharming Angriffen als auch der Schutz vor Spam-Mails und Dialern konnten die Testreihen erfolgreich durchlaufen und ein „sehr gutes Gesamturteil“ bei den Testern hinterlassen.
Erwähnenswert fanden die Tester zudem noch das integrierte Intrusion Prevention System „TruPrevent“ zur Abwehr unbekannter Bedrohungen anhand verhaltensbasierender Prozessanalysen und Schutz vor Buffer-Overflow Attacken.
