High performance workstations and compact industrial PCs for harsh environments

Pyramid Computer will showcase the latest IT-hardware developments from October 8 to 10 at embedded world North America in Austin, Texas.

(PresseBox) (Freiburg, )
As a leading developer and manufacturer of IT solutions for medium and large enterprises, Pyramid Computer is taking the opportunity to exhibit its innovative products at the show in Austin, Texas. The team from the US subsidiary, Pyramid North America Inc., will be presenting numerous innovations, like high-performance platforms, tower workstations for both high-end and office professional applications as well as industrial PCs.

The BoxFlex platforms are the IPCs of Pyramid Computer. The BoxFlex XS, XS2 and S are the most compact systems that operate with DC power. They have the typical advantages: high reliability, robustness, and active cooling make it ideal for use in demanding industrial environments.

A dust filter prevents small particles (fibers, liquid droplets, etc.) from entering the device. All connectors are located on the front panel, and the IPC's chassis is made entirely of metal. Easy integration into machine controls, control cabinets and other industrial systems is made possible by their space-saving design.

The XS, XS2 and S models can be mounted on a DIN rail. BoxFlex XS is the smallest model. Due to its compactness and two 2.5GB/s network interfaces, the BoxFlex XS is suitable for use as an edge device. The x86-based IPC can operate in ambient temperatures up to 45°C (113° F). The BoxFlex S Plus - Filia comes with a duct extension as a secure and tidy cable tray. The duct extension also protects from disconnecting cables.

The Tower series combines innovative technologies with an attractive chassis design. While the Tower is suitable for professional office and demanding graphics applications, the Tower Big is a high-performance workstation with up to two of the largest desktop RTX graphics cards currently available. Equipped with the newest workstation CPUs and a highly efficient cooling system, it offers maximum performance for applications as calculating CAD sketches, rendering realistic scenarios, training AI models, supplying the largest signage arrays with 8K content and encoding and decoding video streams in real time.

The VarioFlex rack servers offers up to seven PCIe slots and can be used within a server farm. The VarioFlex 2U Dual GPU can accommodate two RTX 4000 Ada GPUs, within a smaller server rack chassis, whereas the VarioFlex 5U can hold seven single slot GPUs due to its PCIe5.0 technique. Both the workstations and the servers are manufactured by Pyramid Computer itself in industrial quality, so that customers benefit from long product lifetimes and high component availability.

Besides the hardware products Pyramid offers comprehensive services. They include design, development, prototyping, assembling, laboratory tests and product certifications, specific labels and type plates, an intelligent logistics concept with consignment warehouses (LLZ) and drop-shipment, as well as flash shipping to anywhere in the world. All these services make Pyramid to a provider of full services around industrial PCs and servers.

Pyramid NA will be exhibiting with E.E.P.D. GmbH, a pioneer in the field of embedded computing. For decades, the company has been developing and producing standard computer units, BoxPCs, PanelPCs, as well as customer specific complete systems and industrial PCs based on x86 / ARM® processors.

At the joint stand, E.E.P.D. will be presenting industrial PCs in the NUC form factor (actively or passively cooled) as well as in-house developed motherboards in the embedded NUC™ standard with integrated graphics unit.

Highlights are the newest Single-Board-Computer NUCN and NUCU. The NUCN is vibration resistant and handles extended temperatures up to +85° C / +185°F. Combined with low-power consumption, it is suitable for mobile applications. The NUCU offers high computing and graphic performance and provides AI capability thanks to integrated NPU (Neural Processing Unit) and GPU. The motherboards measure just 10 x 10 cm (4 x 4 inch) and are manufactured in the SMT production (SMD and THT assembly) of E.E.P.D. They are suitable for a wide range of applications such as AI (artificial intelligence), ML (machine learning), CV (computer vision), robotics, mobile systems and measurement technology.

At booth #2623, experts from Pyramid and E.E.P.D. will be on hand to discuss the exhibits and the broader portfolio of their companies, as well as their expertise in the development and manufacturing of customized hardware.
