Der Freiburger Computerhersteller Pyramid stellt rechtzeitig zur CeBIT im WM-Jahr den ersten 4-Wege Server mit insgesamt 11 PCI slots vor. Das 19" Serversystem mit 4 Höheneinheiten, 4 CPU Sockeln und 2 Boxboro-EX IOH Chipsatzausstattung ist modular aufgebaut. Insgesamt können 8 Memory Boards mit insgesamt 64 RDIMM Modulen eingesteckt werden. Sogenannte I/O Risermodule mit je maximal 4 GBit Ethernetports, sowie insgesamt 5 USB Anschlüssen sind ebenfalls modular einsteckbar. Pyramid Produktchef Peter Trosien freut sich: " Diese HighEnd Maschine ist die ideale Plattform für Virtualisierungsprojekte!"

Pyramid wird seinen Wiederverkäufern das System in mehreren Varianten im BTO Verfahren über das Shopsystem anbieten. Die baugleiche Plattform wird voraussichtlich demnächst auch von NEC und Intel angeboten werden, wobei Pyramid sich durch schnelles Time-To-Market, die gewohnte Flexibilität im Handling und variable Bestückungsmöglichkeiten behaupten wird. "Vor allem unser weltweit verfügbarer VorOrtService ist Grund genug bei Pyramid zu kaufen!" so Frieder Hansen, Pyramid Geschäftsführer. Das Unternehmen Pyramid feiert 2010 sein 25jähriges Bestehen, und wird in diesem Jahr mit weiteren Innovationen aufwarten. Auf der CeBIT ist Pyramid als Partner bei GeNUA in Halle 11 (B10) und bei Supermicro in Halle 17 (D70) vertreten. Ferner stellen die Freiburger auf der EmbeddedWorld in Nürnberg in Halle 12 Stand 559 aus.
