Im Gegensatz zu aktuellen Eclipse-Angeboten von Mitbewerbern wie Wind River, die eine sehr allgemeine Lösung bieten, gelang es QNX mit der QNX Momentics Professional Edition, die Eclipse-Entwicklung für embedded Projekte zu revolutionieren. Die enge Integration des renommierten Echtzeitbetriebssystems QNX Neutrino mit den QNX Momentics Tools erzielt die mit Abstand besten Ergebnisse für eine beschleunigte Entwicklung, das Aufdecken von Fehlern und die Codeoptimierung. QNX bietet als Standard auch eigene anpassbare Eclipse-Plug-Ins. Der Code "dietician" beispielsweise reduziert die Memory-Größe durch Entfernen überflüssiger oder ineffizienter Codes. Ein Applikationsprofiler identifiziert zudem problematische Algorithmen und verbesserungswürdige Funktionen.

Mit dem Update wird QNX wieder einmal seiner Vorreiterrolle bei Eclipse-basierten Entwicklungsumgebungen gerecht. Bereits 2002 hat QNX als erster am Markt eine Eclipse-IDE kommerziell implementiert. Seitdem hat sich QNX Momentics zur leistungsfähigsten Tool-Suite entwickelt.
