Der Quest Trendreport unterteilt die Entwicklung der Welt-Autoproduktion in die Autoproduktion in China sowie die Welt-Autoproduktion ohne China von 2007 bis 2017. Das Ergebnis ist ernüchternd.
Die Welt-Autoproduktion wächst in den zehn Jahren von 2007 bis 2017 ohne China insgesamt nur um 6%, im Durchschnitt um 0,6% pro Jahr. Mit China aber erreicht die Welt-Autoproduktion von 2007 bis 2017 insgesamt ein Wachstum von 32%, im Durchschnitt 2,8% pro Jahr.
Der Quest Trendreport stellt fest, dass die strukturellen Veränderungen wie eine längere Zeitdauer der Krisenüberwindung wieder hervortreten. Denn die Welt-Autoproduktion ohne China konnte ihr Vorkrisenniveau erst 2012, also vier Jahre nach Krisenausbruch, knapp übertreffen (100,9 Indexpunkte).
