In mid-2018, the trend growth in production reached its peak with 107.1 index points and at the same time marked a change in trend. Since mid-2018, the production trend has been pointing southwards reaching 100.5 index points in May 2019.
A similar development can be seen in the turnover of German automobile production. Here, too, there happened a change in trend from sales growth to decline in mid-2018.
