Industrial production is the most important economic indicator for the demand for machinery. So the new Quest Report compares the development of industrial production in the ten EU countries that alone account for 80% of German machinery exports to the EU. These are in alphabetical order and with the export quotas of German machines the countries France (14%), Great Britain (10%), Italy (10%), Austria (9%), Netherlands (9%), Poland (8%), Czech Republic (7%), Spain (6%), Belgium (5%) and Hungary (5%).

The Quest Report compares the growth rates of industrial production in these countries with the growth rates of machinery exports from Germany to these countries from 2008 to 2017.

For each of the ten EU countries, a diagram illustrates the development of industrial production and export quota of machinery from Germany.

Poland leads the ranking of the most attractive EU countries for machine exports from Germany. Its industrial production increased by 40% and machine exports from Germany by 29% from 2008 to 2017.

The ranking concludes Spain. There, industrial production fell by 15% and machinery exports from Germany by 19% between 2008 and 2017.
