This gives the user full flexibility to operate and adjust process or maintenance temperatures when switched on or energised, exactly matching required site conditions and set parameters.
A common problem for electronic type controllers located in hazardous area environments is adjusting and setting the temperature and alarm points. Adjustment normally requires the power supply to be switched-off before opening the flameproof enclosure housing, which then makes setting accurately on site a near impossible task. Having to remove the complete unit to a safe area location before making adjustments and the re-installing is not an acceptable approach.
Quintex have now thoughtfully eliminated this problem by introducing their EXTC 100 electronic temperature controller in an Ex d housing to the market. This is controlled and adjusted by means of an intrinsically safe remote control infra-red beam. All settings are securely kept and stored, only being accessible via a 4-digit password.
All settings are fully legible through a large inspection window with the operating and actual temperature set points being displayed simultaneously. In addition either a high or low temperature alarm point can be pre-set for remote monitoring.
Detection and sensing are carried out with 'Ex' type PT100 temperature sensors.
Electric Trace Heating circuits can be directly connected and operated via the 16A switching capacity of the SPST contacts.
Not only is this hazardous area thermostat used for electric trace heating circuits, it is also ideally suited for other process, thermostatic and heating control applications requiring quick and easy site adjustments and operation.
Our first home public release of this new controller will be at ACHEMA, Frankfurt, from 15th to 19th June 2015, where we can demonstrate to you many operational functions.
We challenge you to come up with new applications and ideas by visiting us and discussing your future requirements for this new product.
If you require free entry tickets to this exhibition these can be requested directly from us via our contact page/website.
