The conference presented by the European Biomass Association (AEBIOM) brought together more than 300 participants in four conference blocks and parallel workshops to discuss current developments, innovations and technologies in the bioenergy sector. Speakers at the conference included members of the European Parliament and the European Commission, such as Lena Ek, European Parliament, Committee on Industry, Research and Energy as well as Hans van Steen, Head of Unit, Committee on Industry, Research and Energy, European Commission, showing the quality of the event and its importance for European policy makers.
Speakers at the grand opening ceremony of the exhibition on Wednesday, June 29th, 2011 included the president of AEBIOM Gustav Melin and the event's project manager Avena Gall-Tamas. Hungary's Secretary of State Peter Olajos was also among the renown speakers. He outlined the key priorities of the outgoing Hungarian EU presidency and summarized the accomplishments made in the area of renewable energies. The RENEXPO® BIOENERGY EUROPE EXHIBITION 2011 served as part of the official conclusion of the Hungarian EU Presidency.
