The high-resolution images of the new 3D technology allow surgeons to work with a high level of precision in increasingly complex interventions and to improve the outcomes of operations. "Three-dimensional imaging is required in laparoscopy when the aim is to produce the best possible natural image of the operating site. The clinical routine reveals a requirement that is actually increasing and demonstrates added value for surgeons and patients alike", explained Jürgen Steinbeck, Managing Director of Richard Wolf GmbH.
ENDOCAM Epic 3DHD supplies three-dimensional images in high-definition resolution with a high level of detail which comes very close to natural spatial vision. More precise hand-eye coordination for abdominal surgeons, urologists and gynaecologists is facilitated through visualization of the entire surgical field with reproduction of tissue structures in their true spatial position. The high image quality also permits more relaxed working conditions even when operations last for a long time.
ENDOCAM Epic 3DHD is used in operating theaters together with the latest generation of large 32 inch 3D screens. The system also allows the surgeon to simultaneously record the intervention on a USB stick in 3D for presentations and subsequent analysis. These recordings can then be played backed on most 3D televisions with a USB port.
