At Husum Wind, Rittal presents new solutions and products that provide panel builders and switchgear manufacturers with the creative elements to successively expand their digital value chain. The portfolio ranges from engineering and system solutions for enclosure technology to automation systems as well as cable manufacturing machines and hand tools. Rittal also offers wind turbine operators IT infrastructure solutions such as the Edge Data Center along with new options for smart services.
New enclosure technology for Industry 4.0
The unveiling of the new AX and KX compact and small enclosure series demonstrates Rittal’s response to the challenges of Industry 4.0. These enclosures feature digital equipment and integrate perfectly into the digital value chain, providing panel builders and switchgear manufacturers with an even better foundation for the digital transformation. In addition to high quality 3D data and configuration tools, features such as QR codes on all of the processed panels, for example, simplify the integration into the production workflow. This permits modern digital monitoring – from the receipt of incoming goods to completion.
The manufacturer presents the brand-new AX and KX series as pioneering solutions for electrical installation in wind energy systems. The compact and small enclosures enable easier and faster assembly while enhancing both flexibility and safety. The installation of doors and locking systems has been simplified and does not usually require tools. The additional space which the AX and KX series offer in comparison to the predecessor series is another advantage. The optimised cut-outs and larger flange plate provide up to a third more space for gland plates.
Infrastructure standards for energy storage
Components from Rittal can also be employed to create infrastructure solutions for energy storage systems. The products are standardised, fully mutually compatible, certified , and can be supplied worldwide. They range from individual enclosures to entire containerised solutions. As a result, one-stop mechanical, power-distribution and cooling solutions are available for integrators and equipment manufacturers. Rittal presents the new VX25 enclosure system as an application example for an energy storage enclosure. All common battery modules can be easily integrated into this system thanks to its ease of assembly.
With its heavy-duty component shelves, the battery rack can support loads weighing up to 100 kg per tray to a total of 1,500 kg. In addition, the design also enables the flexible integration of diverse battery shapes into the rack. The batteries are contacted directly via the Rittal busbar system. Furthermore, the roof section provides adequate space for the battery management. These energy storage enclosures can be connected in rows easily and at any time, enabling scalable storage capacity. As proof of its solution expertise for the growing energy storage market, Rittal introduces its energy storage enclosures for the battery system manufacturer Commeo.
Rittal also demonstrates how its own solutions and smart services advance the development of IIoT (Industrial Internet of Things). These range from intelligent cooling solutions to smart service concepts such as predictive maintenance together with IT infrastructure solutions such as the Edge Data Centre. As a consequence, companies can enhance the failure safety of their systems while optimising energy consumption and expanding digitalisation.
