Dr. Neuhaus production in Rostock/Germany gets certified for the safe production of Smart Meter Gateways (SMGw) in conformity with the BSI.
The company Dr. Neuhaus Telekommunikation GmbH, subsidiary of the Sagemcom Group, has reached another important milestone on the way to a BSI certified Smart Meter Gateway (SMGw). The company owned production was audited successful accordingly.
Security is playing an essential role in the design and architecture of the smart metering infrastructure, especially in Germany. Particularly since the energy supply is identified as a part of the security critical infrastructure. Smart Metre Gateways (SMGw) are important components in the energy management and these must fulfil the current BSI security requirements. It is part of these requirements to use processes and systems already in the development and production of SMGw which are correspondingly protected and supervised.
The company Dr. Neuhaus, already honoured in the past with European Smart Metering Awards because of its innovation and excellent security solutions, has reached another important step, to a production certified according to BSI now.
