Dresden, 17. Juli 2003. Die SAP Systems Integration AG hat zum Thema Web Services eine Befragung durchgeführt, bei der sich 30 europäische Unternehmen aller Größenordnungen zu ihren Erfahrungen und Erwartungen bei Web Services geäußert haben.

Drei von fünf Unternehmen setzen mit SOAP (Services Oriented Access Protocol) bereits heute eine der grundlegenden Technologien für Web Services ein. Insbesondere für ihre Mitarbeiterportale, bei der Multi-Channel-Integration und beim Ausbau bestehender CRM-Systeme. Da Web Services weit reichende Implikationen für Geschäftsstrategien und Organisationsstrukturen mit sich bringen, rechnen 60 Prozent der Unternehmen damit, dass sie in Folge der Entwicklungen im Web-Services-Umfeld ihre Organisation ändern müssen. Schon für die kommenden Jahre erwarten sie einen stark ansteigenden Nutzungsgrad von Web Services. Nicht nur bei der Koppelung interner Systeme und bei der leichteren Anpassung der Unternehmensprozesse an veränderte Bedingungen, sondern vor allem bei der Anbindung von Lieferanten oder Kunden sowie bei der Einführung neuer Geschäftsmodelle.
