In the module sector, Schmid Technology Systems (STN) from Niedereschach, Germany, has introduced three new module concepts for semi- and fully automatic turnkey lines ranging from 25 MW to 1000 MW. The three new assembly line designs, Basic, Standard and Premium, now allow Schmid to better satisfy client requirements regarding throughput and degree of automation. The industry newcomer is able to produce competitive modules starting with its highly productive semi-automatic 25 MW Basic line. The 50 MW Standard line operates with a greater degree of automation while the Premium line for very large throughputs of 75 MW and more is fully automated and needs only a little manpower for monitoring and quality control.
STN is currently experiencing substantial demand for its module assembly lines in Turkey and Southeast Europe and has concluded sales contracts for the 50 MW Standard to Romania and the 25 MW Basic to Turkey. Jürgen K. Heller, managing director of Schmid Technology Systems, was very pleased with how things went at the show. He emphasised that the new triple line concept adopted by Schmid has proven to be absolutely right as confirmed by the successful sales contracts and further orders.
STN also presented new and innovative developments in the area of module production - in this case too, all the assembly sections are, with immediate effect, "100% made by Schmid". The new generation of machinery - developed and produced directly within the Schmid Group or by business partners according to Schmid specifications - is presently being delivered to the first client. Schmid can also expect to receive a very positive response from American visitors during the Intersolar North America from 14-16 July 2009 in San Francisco.
