FMAB NEO: Compact Single-Phase Filter with High Symmetrical Attenuation

(PresseBox) (Lucerne, )
SCHURTER is expanding its range of block filters for single-phase systems with its new FMAB NEO series. This range of single-phase filters combines a compact design with a high level of performance. The use of large X capacitors permits high symmetrical attenuation.

The new FMAB NEO filter series boasts a compact design combined with high performance. All versions come with large X capacitors, which ensure high symmetrical attenuation in the lower frequency range. Symmetrical interferences can occur because of phase-angle controllers or semi-conductor relays, for example. When the power semiconductors switch, they generate interference currents between the phase conductor and the neutral conductor. These are known as symmetrical interferences, which the X capacitors positioned between these conductors can help reduce effectively.

The filters in the new series have a shiny steel housing with a closed filter base. The filter is thus effectively and completely shielded, no matter how it is mounted. The filter series is particularly suitable for equipment with high symmetrical interferences, such as devices with semiconductors that control high-power equipment such as professional coffee machines, devices with water heaters, and all types of industry electronics. The compact filters are also suitable for medical equipment and household appliances.

The filter series is available with plug-in connections or thread bolts (30 A version). A version with wire connection is also available. They have a metal flange for easy screw-on mounting on the housing.

The series of devices is designed for current levels from 1 A to 30 A at 250 VAC according to IEC and UL standards. It has ENEC and cURus approvals and is suited for applications according to IEC 60950. Versions are available with small leakage currents <80 µA (M80) or without leakage current <5 µA (M5) for medical equipment according to IEC/UL 60601-1.
