Digital Approval Processes for CAD Documentation are often not possible. If a CAD document needs to be approved by several people, it is often printed and then signed manually by those involved.
SEAL Systems has simplified and complemented these approval processes with its automatic integration of a digital signature in the SAP workflow. With just a few clicks of the mouse, it is possible to sign documents and have a record of their approval. It is no longer necessary to print the document; the approval process is completely digital and reliable.
Because every CAD document has a difference appearance, it does not always make sense for digital signatures to be placed in the same spot in a document at the click of a button. The SEAL Systems solution makes it possible to move the signature around manually so that it is placed in the signature field provided in the document.
This solution also allows the document to be stamped with customised text (e.g. “not approved”), which can also be moved to the appropriate place in the document by hand.
And last but not least, the SEAL Systems solution also makes it possible to stamp over CAD drawing elements such as a title block, a layer or a header with new text variations. This makes it possible to automatically adapt information in different languages as well as project-specific sender information (e.g. various business units or logos from subsidiaries).
The approval processes are logged in the SAP system as well as directly in the PDF itself. In the properties of the document, it is possible to see when which employee signed and/or approved the document. This way, the process of checking (modified) SAP documents in and out is fully automatic. Automatic creation according to PDF/A standards is also possible.
