Seit fast 30 Jahren ist die ITU an der Schnittstelle zwischen Umweltschutz, Abfallwirtschaft und IT tätig und seit Februar 2024 als Tochtergesellschaft fester Bestandteil von Governikus. Wie das passt? Besser als Sie vielleicht denken! Es begann mit einer Reihe an Skandalen: Ende der 80er-Jahre bis 90er-Jahre bestimmten Meldungen von illegal entsorgten Schadstoffen die Medien. Dioxine, Pestizide, Schwermetalle, Altöle und sogar Asbest landeten auf Deponien, in Gewässern und in anderen Ländern.
