Google is introducing the Channel-Domains.
Channel-Domains are made for TV stations. They are especially suitable for TV channels that already have the term "channel" in their name, such as e.g. the Travel Channel.
The new domain tvstation.channel reflects 1:1 the name of the TV station at the net. This clever name is characterized by a special memorability. Memorability is the secret behind the success of websites on the web.
But even TV stations that do not have channel in their name have to expect that Internet users will enter their name in the browser in connection with the new Channel-Domain based on internal logic. If nothing comes up, the TV station has lost traffic that could easily have been taken away.
Secura GmbH, an ICANN accredited Registrar and official agent of the Trademark Clearinghouse, has the intellectual property know-how to use the existent trademarks of the television channels or to get relevant trademarks at short notice, in order that the televisions channels may participate at the sunrise period of the Channel-Domains.
