"Something tells me this won’t be as big as Google’s popular strings, such as .app and .dev," Andrew Alleman wrote about Google's Day-Domains in Domain Name Wire even before the launch of the Day domains' General Availability.

Google is successful in many areas. Also as a registrar for domains.

Dev-Domains launched in 2019 reached over 294,000 registrations in 2022.

After a few days of General Availability or General Availability, 2,800 Day-Domains are registered.

Today domains and Holiday domains can also be used for comparison.

The Today-Domains introduced in 2014 come to 106,000 registrations. The Holiday-Domains went into General Availability in 2013 and have 4,200 registrations. 4,200 domains.

Success is always a relative thing. The Day-Domains have only recently seen the light of day.

For the interested party, 2800 registrations means: There is still a lot possible. Or in other words: Many attractive names are still available.

Everyone will have his own favorites among the Day-Domains. Free are for example domain names like our.day, doris.day and patch.day.
