Info-Domains: Registration with special Spanish characters

The registry of info-domains will introduce the new IDN in the production environment of info-domains on January 19th.

ICANN accredited Registrar Secura has announced today, that the company is realizing the registration of info-domains with special Spanish characters since January 19th, 2008 and accepts before free pre-registrations of info-domains with special characters.

The registry of info-domains will introduce the new IDN in the production environment of info-domains on January 19th.

These special characters become available:
- "á"

- "é" and "è"

- "í" and "ï"

- "ó" and "ò"

- "ú"

- "ñ"

- "ç" ("ç" = Alt + 0231).

- "l•l"

The info-domains belong to the most successful New Top Level Domains.
In October 2007 five million info-domains have been registered.

The new IDN script can serve a Spanish speaking community of over 100 million Internet users worldwide, 13 million of which are in the United States alone.
