Lawyer Dingeldey relies on a SEDO study and writes about the co-domains:
"Since the extension was restarted, Sedo has recorded sales of US $1.5 million for the .co extension; worldwide sales are US $1.64 million, making it one of the most popular domain extensions. Average prices were US $1,819.00 (median 500) in 2010, US $ 1,769.00 (median 310) in 2011 and US $1,826.00 (median 500) in 2012. With this price development .co is way up, with the difference between average price and median, the data adjusted for excesses upwards and downwards, to some outstanding domain deals such as e.co (US $81,000), business.co (US $80,000), fx.co and news .co (US $50,000 each)."
In 2013 the values of the co-domains improved again. In the SEDO study from 2013 it says literally:
"The total value of .CO sales at Sedo since July 2010 is $ 2.6 million USD. The mean average sales price for .CO domain names on Sedo's marketplace is high, reaching $ 2,486 USD in 2013, up 37 percent since the TLD was introduced."
The average sales prices of co-domains are higher than the average sales prices of net domains, org domains and even com domains. "The YTD average sales price of a .CO domain surpasses the most well-established legacy TLDs, including .COM, .NET and .ORG."
If the premium co-domains are not taken into account, the average sales prices of co-domains are higher than the average sales prices of all other domain endings, except the com domains. "The YTD median sales price of a .CO domain is $ 570 USD, up 14 percent since 2010, and higher than all the reported TLDs except for .COM."
