Data management and connectivity – via latest cellular standards or WiFi technology – lay the ground for logging the data of sensors and measurement systems, for preprocessing and forwarding to servers with according data bases using Internet connections. Here these data are made available for usage from anywhere via Internet (browser). At the same time it offers all possibilities for evaluation, presentation and access control or redirection and integration in process landscapes. Of course, highest safety and security standards for access and data storage are applied. For the cloud solutions STW uses Cumulocity’s know-how and technology.
The resulting, continuous flow of information increases efficiency and builds the bridge towards “Industry 4.0”. The seamless availability of sensor data directly from the machine is the basis for transparency regarding status, capacity utilization and usage. The information can be retrieved with a PC, tablet or smart phone. At the same time information can be integrated vertically within a company or horizontally along a value chain.
Vertical integration allows profiling, the categorization of usage into a certain scheme. It offers service optimization or condition monitoring and supports preemptive diagnosis as well as preemptive and remote maintenance. Here sensor and measurement data provide a clear picture.
Horizontal integration assists optimized work flow along a value chain. Its purpose is high level of utilization and availability of the machinery and improved access to information for customers. For many companies this results additional potential for new services.
Measuring in the cloud will be shown by STW in hall 11, stand F43 (AMA Centers for Sensors and Measurement) at Hannover Messe 2016. But customers will also be able to make use of test accounts and see what advantage this solution will bring them in their own application.
