Die neuen IDC-Serien umfassen Pfostenverbinder zum Stecken in dafür vorgesehene Wannenstiftleisten und Leiterplattenverbinder zum direkten Einlöten. Interessant ist der Einsatz der IDC-Serien zur raumsparenden Verbindung von elektronischen Geräten bzw. Baugruppen mittels Flachbandkabel. Beispielsweise im Bereich Embedded Computing, Industrial Computing und Automatisierungstechnik.
Die neuen Serien von W+P PRODUCTS bieten hohe Präzision und Sicherheit. Ausgestattet mit einem Verpolungsschutz können sie blind gesteckt werden. Optional sind die Wannenstiftleisten ebenfalls mit einem Verriegelungssystem erhältlich, das das unbeabsichtigte Lösen der Steckverbindung verhindert. Korrosionsbeständigkeit und gasdichte Kontaktierung wird durch das IDC-Prinzip der Schneid-Klemm-Verbindung gewährleistet.
W+P bietet die neuen Serien in unterschiedlichen Versionen an. 6 bis maximal 80polig, gerade und gewinkelt, als Einlöt- und als SMT-Variante, mit und ohne Verriegelung. Der Isolierkörper besteht aus thermoplastischem Kunststoff gemäß UL94 V 0, das Kontaktmaterial aus einer Kupferlegierung. Die Lötbarkeit ist nach IEC 60512-12A garantiert, eine sichere Funktion ist in einem Temperaturbereich von -40 bis +105°C gegeben.
Komplette Kabelkonfektionen in beliebigen Längen können als zusätzlicher Service geordert werden. Ausgelegt sind die Steckverbinder für Flachbandkabel im Rastermaß 0,635 mm mit einem Kabelquerschnitt von AWG 30.
