The Cyber Resilience Act mandates harmonised rules for placing products with digital elements on the European Union market, requiring them to be free of known vulnerabilities and secure throughout their lifecycle. Manufacturers must thoroughly document product specifications, comply with EU cybersecurity standards, conduct risk assessments, clarify software sourcing and set its strategy against security breach. Alongside these, the legal framework enforces device authentication, identity and access management, confidentiality and integrity of the stored and transmitted data.
