The global photovoltaic boom continues in 2017. This year, solar power plants with a peak output of around 80 GWp were newly commissioned. Demand is also picking up again in Germany. According to a forecast of 1.5-gigawatts over the past two years, the expansion is likely to be above the 2-gigawatt mark this year, according to the forecast of leading PV providers. In the first three months of the current year, the expansion of PV systems on commercial properties has even increased by 66% compared to Q1/2016.
More and more countries are taking climate protection seriously and are focusing on clean solar energy. This is often simply an economic decision because photovoltaics is already the most favorable form of power generation in many regions and consumption is very close.
