“Innovation is an area that many of our customers work with on a continual basis. A key issue in this respect is how modern information technology can be used to improve business and process models. In Central Europe, companies have to rely more on innovativeness than businesses in, for example, China or India. It is therefore important for us that HSG focuses on the issue of innovation in its research and teaching activities,” comments Thomas M. Kaiser, IMG - Consulting Services of S&T, Head of IT Management Consulting at S&T DACH, about the new plans for collaboration with St. Gallen.
The partnership includes the generation of publications, the carrying out of joint workshops and studies as well as the conception and realization of events for CIOs. S&T and the University of St. Gallen will also run joint research and consulting projects.
“The market profile of our Business Solutions unit is clearly associated with innovation,” comments Georg Komornyik, COO BS at S&T. “The IWI at the University of St. Gallen is therefore the ideal partner for us. By focusing on business innovation, the cooperation provides new opportunities for us and our customers, and we set ourselves apart from the competition and gain competitive advantages.“
“We are very pleased that S&T is continuing its long-standing cooperation with the IWI at the University of St. Gallen, as this is not something that should be taken for granted in the current economic climate. Like S&T, we also consider innovative future thinking as basis of all progress – and success,” confirms Prof. Dr. Walter Brenner from IWI at the University of St. Gallen. The University of St. Gallen is taking a multidisciplinary approach to its focused research on business innovation; in addition to IWI, many other departments and research institutes are also involved, such as the Institute for Technology Management, the Institute for Media and Communications Management, the Center for Customer Insight and the Chair of Logistics Management.
The Business Solutions unit of the S&T Group includes the Information Management Group (IMG), which was founded in 1988 as a spin-off from the University of St. Gallen. Since then, IMG has maintained a close relationship with the prestigious Swiss University. In 2007, the company became part of the S&T Group, which provides with IMG - Consulting Services of S&T international business and process consulting as well as comprehensive SAP implementation projects in Germany, Austria and of course, Switzerland.
