The company announced today that Wenzhou Natural Automation Equipment CO., LTD. was fined and ordered to cease and desist by the Supreme Court in Beijing in the second instance for copying the patented locking mechanism of STEGO's FPI/FPO 018/118 filter fans without permission. This mechanism ensures that the fans are securely fastened in the mounting recess without the need for tools.
"We are very pleased with this important victory and the Supreme Court's ruling," said Elmar Mangold, managing director of STEGO Group. "It is further proof that STEGO is willing to protect its intellectual property rights and that we will actively defend ourselves against patent infringement."
The loss of the patent case in court will force Wenzhou Natural Automation Equipment CO., LTD. to cease the sale and manufacture of its products in China, as well as their export to other countries, if the products contain the patented locking mechanism.
Furthermore, the Chinese company is required to destroy the inventory. The plagiarizer is obligated to pay a high six-figure sum in damages (RMB¥) to the STEGO Group. This verdict from the second instance is legally binding without the possibility of appeal.
