Gold and silver delight investors

Last Friday, the price of gold passed the USD 3,000 mark for the first time. Silver is also shining in terms of price.

(PresseBox) (Herisau, )
The new high price reached by gold is likely to have caught the attention of many. Silver has also risen significantly and is approaching the 34 US dollar mark per troy ounce. The geopolitical squabbles, possible ceasefire in Ukraine and the back and forth with customs duties and punitive tariffs make the safe havens of gold and silver more attractive than ever. Not only gold, but also silver has the ability to reduce portfolio risks and ensure healthy diversification. Silver in particular is likely to have a bright future. It is the high-tech and industrial metal of the future, and the silver deficit continues to rise, which in turn should increase the appeal of the precious metal. The growing green energy sector, particularly the booming solar industry, is gobbling up more silver every year. The price of silver is also being pulled upwards by the rising price of gold, as silver has a habit of following a similar path to gold.

In principle, the purchase of silver is subject to 19% VAT. If differential taxation is applied (dealer bought for 90 euros, sells for 100 euros, then only 10 euros are subject to 19 percent), it is cheaper. If physical silver is sold after one year, it is tax-free. There are various reasons why silver is considered to be a much more volatile metal than gold and is therefore subject to greater price fluctuations. Firstly, the silver market is significantly smaller than the gold market, and supply and demand have a greater impact on silver. Secondly, manipulation is more possible with silver and investor sentiment can also lead to greater price fluctuations. A well-stocked portfolio should not be without gold and silver stocks. In addition to the basic investment in physical precious metals, this also includes shares in good companies with gold and silver projects. Well-positioned companies include Endeavour Silver in the silver sector and Sibanye-Stillwater in the gold sector.

Endeavour Silver - https://www.commodity-tv.com/ondemand/companies/profil/endeavour-silver-corp/ - is already a medium-sized precious metal producer and has projects in Mexico, Nevada and Chile. An estimated 4.5 to 5.2 million ounces of silver and 30,500 to 34,000 ounces of gold are to be produced in 2025. The Terronera project is nearing completion

Sibanye-Stillwater - https://www.commodity-tv.com/ondemand/companies/profil/sibanye-stillwater-ltd/ - is one of the largest producers of platinum and palladium. Gold production is also an important business for the company.
