Thin-Clients sind die Endgeräte einer zentral verwalteten Unternehmens-IT, über die auf Server-gehostete Applikationen zugegriffen werden kann. Auf Thin Clients sind keine Nutzer-bezogenen Daten abgespeichert.
Der Ausbau der Thin-Client-Installation durch Unicon geht weiter
Die Unicon betreut seit mehreren Jahren den Rollout-Prozess von Thin Clients mit dem Linux-basierten Betriebssystem eLux® und dem Device Manager Scout Enterprise für die Finanz Informatik – und wird die Installation gemeinsam mit dem Kunden weiter ausbauen. Ziel ist es, so viele wie möglich der noch auf dem Betriebsprogramm Windows XP basierenden Desktop PCs durch Thin Clients auf Basis von eLux® mit Verwaltung durch Scout Enterprise auszutauschen. Der Hintergrund ist, dass Microsoft den Support für das Betriebssystem Windows XP zum Jahresende einstellt (Service-End-Of-Life).
