The electrified Cool Trailer is set to revolutionize the logistics industry by significantly reducing carbon emissions, operational costs, and dependence on fossil fuels. The trailer will feature advanced electrification systems that provide power for both the refrigeration unit and the trailer’s propulsion, enabling fully electric, zero-emission operations.
The Parties are considering entering a cooperative relationship, sharing their know-how and intend to develop jointly electrified Cool Trailers for THE REEFER Group.
The common goal of Trailer Dynamics, REEFER GROUP and the power of its industry partners as Thermo King is to make a significant contribution to the decarbonization, increased efficiency and digitalization of logistics with growing priority in temperature-controlled logistics and to make an electrified trailer ready for series production. Each partner contributes its high-quality products and expertise to the eTrailer project with the aim of creating joint added value.
Trailer Dynamics leading eTrailer technology provides supporting propulsion which allows significant diesel and CO₂ emission reduction when combined with traditional internal combustion tractors, extends the driving range when combined with an electric powered tractor, and has the capability to power electrified trailer refrigeration units (TRUs).
THE REEFER Group will provide its industry expertise and is specialized in the design, manufacturing and marketing of temperature-controlled trailers and semi-trailers and rigids bodies, including all related functionalities, and related parts. THE REEFER Group is one of the key refrigerated trailers and semi-trailers manufacturers in the European Union.
The collaboration will enable integration of technologies to revolutionize the industry, providing enhanced logistics capabilities for trade, industry, and freight forwarders, hauling fresh and frozen goods. The alliance will drive innovations that enhance efficiency and accelerate the transition to zero-emission transportation in Europe and reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
Michael W. Nimtsch, Managing Director of Trailer Dynamics, stated: "We are excited to embark on this cooperation with THE REEFER Group, as it aligns perfectly with our vision of transforming the logistics industry through innovative and sustainable solutions. By combining the expertise of Trailer Dynamics in drive train control and electrification with THE REEFER Group's deep knowledge of refrigerated systems, we are confident that this collaboration will deliver a groundbreaking product that meets the growing demand for eco-friendly logistics solutions”.
By incorporating Trailer Dynamics’ innovative technology, THE REEFER Group will enhance its advanced innovation capability and product portfolio, reinforce its sustainability commitments, drive positive change within the industry, and support customer and regulatory demands.
Damien Destremau, CEO of THE REEFER Group, stated: "This partnership with Trailer Dynamics is an important milestone in our commitment to innovation and sustainability in refrigerated transport. The electrified Cool Trailer represents a new era for the industry, combining cutting-edge technology with the reliability and performance our customers expect. By integrating Trailer Dynamics' advanced electrification solutions with our expertise in cold chain logistics, we are not only addressing the pressing need for more sustainable transportation options but also setting a new standard for what refrigerated trailers can achieve. We are proud to work together on this pioneering project and look forward to delivering a product that will redefine the future of refrigerated logistics."
