- During the expansion of its new network for temperature controlled pharmaceutical deliveries, trans-o-flex Schnell-Lieferdienst is changing the color of its complete vehicle fleet: thousands of vehicles will get a new appearance as they are acquired.
New network, old color. In line with the expansion of trans-o-flex ambient, the new network with active temperature control for temperatures in the range of between 15° and 25°C, trans-o-flex Schnell- Lieferdienst is changing the color of its vehicles. Instead of the anthracite color, introduced 10 years ago, the company is ordering all of its new vehicles in white. The company logo, with the stylized orange autobahn slip road, will remain the same. "The new color is a return to the origins of trans-o-flex," said Max Moser, Chief Executive Officer. "After the company was founded in 1971 the complete fleet was colored white until 2014."
Psychological and practical reasons lie behind the color change. "White vehicles heat up slower than anthracite-colored ones in direct sunlight" said Moser, "so that it is easier to maintain the temperature range of 15° to 25°C necessary for pharmaceutical products, especially in the summer." That is why all of the vehicles acquired for the trans-o-flex ambient network already have a white basis color. The current fleet will then be gradually replaced with new, white, vehicles.
The trans-o-flex ThermoMed subsidiary, which serves the market for the active temperature controlled transportation of temperature sensitive goods in the range 2° to 8°C and 15° to 25°C for the pharmaceutical industry, already uses white vehicles. This includes special delivery services in the area Homecare and clinical trial samples.
"Experts told us that white is the color of the pharmaceutical industry and is associated with medicine, purity and cleanliness," explains Moser. "This means that, in the future, the whole trans-o-flex logistic group will present itself in a single, uniform color."
