- trans-o-flex insight: recipients can use the app to accelerate deliveries. Entering preferred delivery times makes it possible to receive shipments up to one day earlier.
- Private recipients without customer number can now also track their shipments.
“Providing more transparency and information was only the first step”, says Wolfgang P. Albeck, CEO of trans-o-flex. "In a second step, we have now extended our trans-o-flex insight recipient app to offer more comfort and functions because we also want to be in the pole position when it comes to IT.” The enhanced functionality for recipients has been made possible by developing a desktop version in addition to the application for smartphones or tablet computers introduced in 2017. This way, the actual app itself can remain as slim and fast as possible. "The application for PC and Mac makes operation even more convenient and also facilitates the access to the program”, continues Albeck. “In addition to this, it also contains some exclusive features that would be too extensive for the app.” One of these features is a calendar function that, since April, has made it possible for business recipients to enter their preferred delivery times. The advantage: trans-o-flex takes this information into account during the scheduling and route planning process and recipients can then receive their shipments up to one day earlier as the drivers are also aware of the opening hours. This avoids double journeys to pharmacies or shops, which is also in the drivers’ interest.
The desktop version allows recipients to use all of the functions directly from their workstations. This, however, requires the registration of the computer using a mobile phone. Only one registration per recipient company is necessary. Then, all employees of this recipient can access the data by entering their own password.
With the introduction of the desktop version, trans-o-flex, for the first time, also offers private recipients the possibility of tracking their shipments. To this end, they click on the Shipment Tracking button on the trans-o-flex website and will then be automatically forwarded to the app's desktop application, where they can enter their shipment number and see the current status. Private recipients do not have to register for this service. They only need to register if they want to use other functions of the application in addition to shipment tracking.
Another new feature is based on a proposal of users of the app. Since April, all recipients have automatically been receiving a push message on their smartphone via the app as soon as a shipment has been dispatched. Previously, users had to open the app to see if it contained new shipment information.
trans-o-flex insight not only informs recipients beforehand when a delivery can be expected (one-hour time frame) but also provides them with all relevant details, e.g. how many shipments they will receive from which dispatchers as well as whether the delivery concerns hazardous goods or Ambient or COD shipments, including the specific COD amount. By scanning the QR code of their parcel, recipients can also see the temperature curve of an Ambient shipment. "trans-oflex is the only service provider to offer its recipients this information”, says Albeck. “By introducing the extensions to the app, we are now increasing our lead even further.”
