Schnell-Lieferdienst trans-o-flex is raising its prices this year by around 5.5 %. "Key drivers for trans-o-flex, as in the transport and logistics sector as a whole, are the significantly higher personnel costs, which - exacerbated by the shortage of drivers and qualified staff - will also continue to rise in 2013", explains Oliver Rupps, spokesman for the Management Board of the trans-o-flex Logistics Group. In addition, there are numerous apparently minor cost pools, which, altogether, count towards a substantial increase in production costs. "Examples include the dramatic increases in insurance premiums, particularly for vehicles, rising energy costs and new, additional costs such as the introduction of toll charges for main roads." Owing to the extent of these increases in costs, it is no longer possible to offset these fully through improvements in efficiency. "We have increased quality and efficiency considerably in recent years. This quality comes at a price. And not least, we want to and must work profitably such that our investments in the further development of the network in line with demand pay off."
