Wind turbine generators (WTGs) keep getting bigger and higher. Hub heights of 160 metres have become the standard; some manufacturers are even approaching the 200m mark, pushing existing designs of concrete and steel towers to their limits. “Simply scaling up is no longer possible,” says Stephan Mayer, Team Lead WTG Support Structures at TÜV SÜD Industrie Service GmbH. “Given this, we need a better exchange within the industry in order to learn from mistakes and make the latest technical developments available to everyone.”
By launching TÜV SÜD Wind Towers Conference, TÜV SÜD is establishing a forum where engineers, designers, manufacturers, and other wind-power experts can meet, present innovative concepts, and discuss the latest technologies. At the premier event, high-profile speakers will talk about the latest developments in steel towers, concrete hybrid towers, and wooden towers and discuss legal and normative stipulations as well as stricter sustainability requirements.
TÜV SÜD Wind Towers Conference will take place in Munich on February 27/28, 2025. The main language of the event is English. The attendance fee is EUR 450 (incl. VAT). Students pay EUR 90 (excluding the evening event) or EUR 180 (including the evening event).
