With the energy revolution in mind, renewable energies are occupying an ever-increasing space. This includes electricity generated from solar energy in particular, since the star sends an amount of energy to the Earth’s surface each year that is around 10,000 times the energy required globally by mankind. In light of the growing challenges on the energy market, it is therefore no wonder that the demand for solar products is higher than ever.
Under this year's motto "Connecting Solar Business", Intersolar Europe 2023 will be a focal point for manufacturers, wholesalers, service providers and project developers in the photovoltaic industry. When it comes to "Connecting", LAPP is also focusing on solar energy. As a driver of technology, LAPP tackled smart solutions for the photovoltaic sector at an early stage and has invested a lot of energy in developing customer-specific products and services. Modern PV systems require powerful, long-lasting components that are particularly durable, robust and extremely flexible. “This is so important because they have to withstand the wind and weather”, explains Ralph Bönnemann, Project Manager for Renewable Energy at LAPP. In close collaboration with users, the TÜV inspection and certification agency and the North American UL approval institute, LAPP put the products on display at Intersolar through their paces in order to get the most out of the sun.
Thoughtful products from LAPP for wind and weather
These include ÖLFLEX® solar cables for cabling solar modules or rows of modules, which are not only flame-retardant and halogen-free thanks to electron beam cross-linked sheath materials, but also ozone and UV-resistant. Large, robust cables for direct burial for supplying energy into the power supply network, EPIC® SOLAR connectors made of UV-resistant plastic, SKINTOP® SOLAR cable glands and FLEXIMARK® marking systems are also just as important. All LAPP products meet the highest quality standards, are ready for use worldwide and are RoHS-compliant.
Customer-specific services round off the portfolio
In addition, LAPP offers a wide range of services: international project teams not only advise customers on the planning and implementation of their PV systems, but also take care of the logistics and provide support with customs clearance, so that all the necessary components can be delivered just-in-time. LAPP is also involved in research projects in the PV sector, which can also be experienced at the trade fair stand. These include, for example, the research project "BALDACHIN", led by Fraunhofer ISE (funded by the BMWK), in which innovative solar roof elements in the form of roof tiles are being developed and LAPP is placing a special focus on innovative connector concepts.
