On the 16th of March, Ms Dagmar Vogt, owner of ib vogt GmbH, handed over the symbolic cheque in the presence of the District Councillor for Marzahn-Hellersdorf, Mr Christian Gräff, and the chairman of the SPD parliamentary group in the Berlin House of Representatives, Mr Raed Saleh.
With this support, the association will implement a project aimed at the integration of refugee children. The chairman of the association, Mr Eckhard Baumann, stated that: "The main objective of the project is the sustainable and individual stabilisation of refugee children and their living situation, as well as the integration of young people into the existing social structures. In doing so, we want to reach the children in their respective accommodation centres while at the same time providing them with access to further services through coordinated project modules. These include the development of a welcoming culture and getting to know the social space together, as well as implementing sports and experiential education programmes. Shared interaction between children from German and non-German backgrounds also plays a particularly important role for the "All Kids" project. We are delighted that this generous donation will now enable us to establish a project group to promote the integration of refugee children in cooperation with other institutions".
Ms Dagmar Vogt, regarding the "All Kids" project: "We have been supporting the work of the Straßenkinder e.V. association since 2006 and would once again like to strengthen our long-standing commitment to the urgently needed task of integrating children of refugees. I am certain that this project will not only improve the lives of refugee children but also how all of the people of Berlin live together. I hope that, by our example, we can encourage more people to get involved in this project and thus in our city".
The donation was liaised by Mr Christian Gräff, District Councillor for Marzahn-Hellersdorf, who has known Ms Vogt and the Straßenkinder e. V. association for many years.
"I have been familiar with the dedicated work of the association for many years and admire this commitment on behalf of children and teenagers in our district and beyond, which is for the most part funded through private donations", stated Christian Gräff regarding the project.
Ms Vogt and Mr Gräff were very pleased that Mr Raed Saleh, chairman of the SPD parliamentary group in the Berlin House of Representatives, who has been actively involved in integration work in Berlin for the last few years, attended the donation ceremony.
“This generous donation is a symbol of humanity. All children who come to us are Berlin children and we cannot leave a single one behind. Integration is a task for the whole of society. Dagmar Vogt and Anton Milner are role models", said Raed Saleh.
