Within only twelve weeks, the international technology provider Giesecke & Devrient managed to transparently consolidate, analyze and represent all inventory and consumption data of their Processing Division by using the IT-based Wassermann Solution WIN. This permits sustainable optimization of inventory and storage costs.
In cooperation with Wassermann, the international technology provider Giesecke & Devrient GmbH (G&D) successfully completed a supply chain management project resulting in inventory visibility across all sites. Now in use is WIN, the Wassermann Inventory Optimization Solution: The flexible and powerful Wassermann solution allows G&D on time detection and quick optimization of inventories at their Munich headquarters as well as thirteen other G&D sites around the world.
Total transparency as a basis for effective inventory reduction
By implementing the software all stock and consumption information is now centrally available for G&D: With the support of the Wassermann Management Consultants G&D was able to integrate their stock data from the established SAP as well as from various locally operated IT solutions into the integrated WIN solution within just twelve weeks, providing optimal inventory visibility across the entire after sales supply chain and across all locations.
In a subsequent project step, the WIN solution offers powerful options, such as to determine the ideal inventory level and order points or the specifically required safety stock based per item and location on comprehensive optimization algorithms. Due to the Wassermann solution Giesecke & Devrient realizes an efficient article disposition and inventory management whilst avoiding stock outs and maintaining availability of parts.
