SMP-Unterstützung für Wind Rivers VxWorks-Plattformen entschärft Komplexität bei der Entwicklung von Multicore-Architekturen

Wind Rivers bewährtes Echtzeit-Betriebssystem VxWorks unterstützt in der Version 6.6 symmetrische Multiprozessing-Systeme (SMP). Die SMP-Unterstützung hilft den Entwicklern dabei, die Leistungsfähigkeit von Multicore-Prozessoren zu erschließen und in den Produkten nutzbar zu machen. Auch die Eclipse-basierte Entwicklungsumgebung Wind River Workbench und die Workbench in der On-Chip Debugging Edition sind SMP-fähig. Eine bessere Abstimmung von Multicore-Debugging und Performance mit den Tools ermöglichen eine schnelle Identifizierung und Behebung von Problemen. VxWorks 6.6 SMP soll, zusammen mit den Wind River VxWorks-Plattformen in der Version 6.6, ab Ende 2007 als Add-On für alle Wind River-Plattformen auf VxWorks-Basis auf den Markt kommen.
