Wind River und ACCESS arbeiten gemeinsam an Entwicklungslösung

Wind River PCD und ALP für die Entwicklung von Mobiltelefonen und Smartphones

Wind River und ACCESS beabsichtigen, eine gemeinsame Software-Entwicklungslösung für Mobiltelefone und Smartphones auf den Markt zu bringen. Die Lösung soll aus der Wind River Platform for Consumer Devices, Linux Edition und der ACCESS Linux Platform bestehen. Hersteller und Carrier sollen damit auf einer vollständig integrierten, offenen und flexiblen Plattform Handhelds mit hoher Funktionsvielfalt einschließlich LiMo-konformer Geräte entwickeln können. Auf Wunsch wird sich die kommerzielle Linux-Distribution mit einem Software-Stack für Handhelds kombinieren lassen. Mit der Lösung sollen auch die Eclipse-basierte Entwicklungsumgebung Wind River Workbench und das ebenfalls Eclipse-basierte ACCESS Linux Platform Product Development Kit genutzt werden können. Die Wind River-ACCESS-Lösung wurde auf dem Anwendungsprozessor OMAP2430 von Texas Instruments und den Chipsets PXA30x und PXA31x von Marvell erprobt und soll im zweiten Quartal 2008 verfügbar sein. Die Unternehmen teilten außerdem mit, dass sich Wind River dem ACCESS Connect Ecosystem Partner Program anschließen werde.
