Although the shipbuilding and industry supplier already has done successful business in China since 2003, WISKA is sure of further growth potential by means of the new company. "China still is a market of big economic growth. Our business success together with our local agents by now encourages us to realize our subsidiary's economic potential.", says Ronald Hoppmann, General Manager of WISKA. Apart from the strong shipbuilding market in China, the Kaltenkirchen-based company is also putting strong focus on the industry sector, as Tim Reimann, responsible for the Chinese market at WISKA, confirms: "Especially with our products "made in Germany" we have excellent opportunities to establish the WISKA brand also in the industry sector. To achieve this, good availability and a personal contact on-site are important and we can offer this now."
WISKA Electric Systems (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. was established by WISKA together with more than 150 guests of both the German and Chinese industry and commerce and politics in a grand opening celebration on 18th November in Shanghai. High-ranking guests included Torsten Albig, Minister-President of Schleswig-Holstein, Germany, during a delegation visit, representatives of the AHK German Chambers of Commerce and the Chinese business community.
Besides the existing very good economic relationships between Schleswig-Holstein and the Chinese market, Albig emphasized that a company foundation abroad at the end also will save jobs in Schleswig-Holstein - reason enough to use the economic potentials in China. For WISKA, Ronald Hoppmann confirmed this: "For WISKA group, our new subsidiary is a sales branch, that hopefully will increase our business on-site, but will also have positive effects on the whole company by causing a higher demand and strengthen production and assembly also in Germany."
